This event is an opportunity for those interested in exploring the realms of AI safety and governance, contributing to a vital area of research with significant potential impact. Our event aims to, amongst other things, contribute to the broader discussion on AI's future, inspired by Holden Karnofsky’s list of important, actionable questions for the most important century.

What you will work on

  1. Research Summaries
    Teams will produce a written summary (minimum 500 words) detailing their research and insights.

  2. Actionable Plans
    Detailed 'next action steps' with timelines will be developed, guiding further exploration and research.

  3. Presentation
    Teams present their work, showcasing their research journey and findings. Your team's output will be evaluated by our expert judges and a cash prize of £50 will be awarded to the winning team.


Agenda

10:00 - 10:15: Arrival and setup.
10:15 - 10:30: Introductory presentation and Q&A.
10:30 - 11:00: Topic selection and brainstorming.
11:00 - 13:00: Project work.
13:00 - 14:00: Lunch break.
14:00 - 19:00: Continued project work.
19:00 - 20:00: Project submission deadline, followed by dinner and presentations.
20:00 - 22:00: Socializing and networking.
