Safe AI London supports individuals in London that are interested in reducing the risks posed from advanced artificial intelligence.
We aim to do this by raising awareness of these risks, particularly in universities, and providing high-quality resources and support to students and professionals interested in contributing to the problem.

  • Justin Olive

    Justin is Head of AI Safety at Arcadia Impact where he works on SAIL projects and other AI programmes such as LASR Labs and ASET. Previously he has worked on AI Governance projects with Good Ancestors Policy, field-building with AI Safety Melbourne, machine learning and interpretability research, and worked in the Australian government.

  • Joe Hardie

    Joe works at Arcadia Impact on operations and supporting various projects. Previously he studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at University of Sussex and has worked at Wipro and Microsoft.

  • Erin Robertson

    Erin works at Arcadia Impact and leads their LASR Labs research programme. She previously studied Maths and Philosophy at the University of Bristol.


Arcadia Impact AI safety programmes

Alongside SAIL, Arcadia Impact runs global programmes focused on AI safety and governance that you might be interested in.

  • London AI Safety Research Labs is a technical AI Safety research programme. Participants work in teams of four, supervised by an experienced AI safety researcher, to produce an ML paper and accompanying blog post that makes incremental progress on an important problem in AI safety.

  • ASET (AI Safety Engineering Taskforce) is an Arcadia Impact programme that recruits teams of skilled engineers & scientists and supports their transition into full-time AI safety careers. Teams carry out AI safety software engineering projects that are proposed by partner organisations, with Arcadia Impact staff providing project management support.
    The overall aim of ASET is to provide a reputable talent development experience for those who are employed in full-time roles, while also making meaningful contributions to the work being done by AI safety organisations.
